Scope
The
33rd Annual Symposium on Applied Surface Analysis is being hosted by
the
AVS Hudson Mohawk Chapter of at The College of Nanoscale
Science and Engineering, University at Albany, State University of
New York. The symposium will provide a forum for discussion of the
quantitative and qualitative aspects of surface analysis. The theme
of the meeting will be Surface Microscopy and Microanalysis.
As is traditional
for the meeting, an equipment exhibition will be held, featuring
vendors of surface analytical an vacuum technology equipment.
Student
participation in this meeting is highly encouraged and will be
subsidized. There will also be a monetary prize for the best student
poster paper.
Topics
All traditional
and emerging methods of surface, thin film, and nano materials
analyses, and their applications, will be considered, including
technique/instrument development, data reduction/handling, and
sample preparation.
Applications in
the following areas are particularly encouraged:
-
Alternative Energy (solar, batteries, etc)
-
Bio and Biomaterials
-
High k-dielectrics
-
Advanced interconnects
-
